A private excursion designed to introduce you to the Greek Vineyard. Greece is one of the oldest wine-producing countries, and Corinth is one of its richest regions to-date.
We depart from Athens and pass from the great Corinth canal that connects the Aegean and Ionian seas. As we reach the Corinth region, we make our first stop at a winery in Nemea for wine tasting of the famous locally grown Agiorgitiko, as well as other varieties such as chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and the red, cabernet sauvignon, merlot and syrah. Discover more about wines through the paths of history and continue the tour with the visit of the Archaeological Museum of Nemea.
You will be impressed by the sanctuary of Zeus and the stadium of Nemea, and learn about history and mythology of the area that includes Hercules first feat, the killing of the lion of Nemea.
Our next stop is Nafplio, a picturesque town that served as the first capital of the modern Greek state. Visit the Syntagma (Constitution) Square, the primary Parliament House of Greece and numerous other historic buildings as we stroll through the town before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant.
Before leaving for Athens, your guide will take you to a ‘Karonis’ a historic wine ship founded in 1882. Here you have the opportunity to choose from an extensive collection of over 500 Greek labels and 200 foreign, as well as numerous aged Greek and imported wines. We return to Athens following the same route and drop you off at your hotel full of ancient history and wine tastes.
